Ever heard someone say a classic one liner and thought that would make a great line in a song?
Ever wanted your favourite singer to sing a song you wrote?
Ever wondered if you could write a classic pop song?
Well, that's just part of the story behind Miracle Lyrical. Togther we can share song ideas, collaborate on songs and as fans of bands, ask them to sing the words we want them to. Sound implausible? Well, nothing ventured, nowt gained.
Getting started.
You're not going to believe how easy this is. If you know what a wiki is, you're all set to go. Click here and start a song page off. Or click here to see alist of the songs in the system. Jump in, edit, tweak, copy and use to your hearts delight.
If you've no idea of what a wiki is, well, it's a website that you can edit, change, tweak and copy. Have a look at wikipedia, the largest collaborative website - all the articles are written by the users not by a team of paid writers. So if you get your head around that, you'll understand Miracle Lyrical.
You'll need to understand a little about the wiki syntax. Well, eventually you'll want to format words in bold and italics, but on the most - you wont need to. Some of us are happy to tidy up your songs. The main thing is that you get into the writing and hacking of songs and get creative.
Editing other peoples song.
Sounds scary? Fear ye not. Every song page has a revert, so nothing gets lost. Cool huh. Also, you can copy a whole song and rework it on another page. Give it another name, change the structure, write it in another language.
To legally allow us to do this, all the content you write and reuse is given under a Creative Commons licence, namely CC-BY-SA 3.0. Hve a read of it, but in short, it means you get the credit and you get to reuse other peoples writings. It's an ecosystem of songwriting.
Man, this is crazy!
Maybe dudes and dudettes, but lets imagine our favourites stars on stage singing the songs we wrote. Sure, most singers have profesional songwriters penning their tunes for them. But that's not to say we can try it. Not all of us want to be proffessionl song writers. If you think of a catchy phrase, someone else can work with that and turn it into a whole song.
But it's not just for the pop world. If you have a band and are looking for new material, this is the place. If you want to work with your fans. Thsi is the place. If you want to try new ways of working, this is.. you get the idea.
